Black and Blue Tattoo Presents
Isla: Images of a Fickle Paradise
Quite Hours by Gabby Quynh-Anh Miller
July 10 - August 20th
Artist reception on Monday, August 17th from 6:30pm — 8:30pm
Gabby Quynh-Anh Miller grew up with lots of old ladies and animals in Berkeley. Since 2003 she has been shuttling between Portland, Oregon, The Bay Area and Hanoi - studying, teaching and working primarily with artists. In 2008, Gabby graduated from Reed College with a degree in cultural anthropology, writing a thesis about experimental arts and artists in renovation-era Vietnam. She has spent the past year doing projects, and taking pictures of dogs while working with excellent teenage artists at The Oxbow School in Napa. After this show at Black and Blue Tattoo, she will embark on a European Tour as the roadie for L.A. musician and heart-breaker "Nite Jewel" before she heads back to Hanoi. Gabby’s collection of dog pictures can be found at http://nicedogblog.tumblr.com.
