Black And Blue Tattoo, San Francisco, California
Brucius
[see brucius's work]

Brucius Visual tattoo artist, Brucius regards tattooing as a medium to express oneself with immediacy. The pressure of the permanence and the personal aspect of it make it closer to his artistic drive. Brucius sees Tattooing as a right of passage for the client as well as a perfect way for his skills to be applied.

As a freelance artist Brucius produced high-end, fine-detailed photo-realistic artwork and graphic designs. His work can be seen at: http://bruciustattoo.com/art_work/graphite

He's lived in Europe, New York, Seattle and Los Angeles. Currently works in San Francisco, California.

Brucius tattoos and is the Manager at Black & Blue Tattoo in SF.

His interests include: fine art, abstract as well as scientific illustration, anatomical illustration, medical illustration, images of nature, eclectic-obscure art, medieval images, stencil graffiti style, linocut/woodcut art, engravings, etchings, hatching, stippling and pointillism. He's enthusiastic about architectural designs: "I'll tattoo an entire blue print on you!"

Brucius has a bachelor in Fine Arts. He studied architectural drafting and sculpture in Europe, Graphic Design and Oil painting at the Art Center of Design in Pasadena, California.

His work is influenced and inspired by artists such as: Liam Sparkes, Xed Lehead, Francis Bacon, Aubrey Beardsley, Frank Lloyd Wright, Oskar Fischinger, Caravaggio, Paolo Uccello, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Albrecht Dürer, and the Brothers Quay.

With his free time Brucius works on his paintings, drawings, listens to eclectic music, hikes and practices martial arts, and has a good laugh watching Don Hertzfeldt's cartoons. He loves to hang with friends in the great city of San Francisco and eat Ethiopian food.

His Favorite Museum: The Museum of Jurassic Technology, in Los Angeles.
